There are many people looking for actors, you just have to know where these people are located. They are not all Hollywood big wigs, and some may not even b able to pay you, but the experience you can potentially get can be invaluable.

If you go to any city I can am positive you will find at least one community theater where local actors come together to do presentations. As an actor this could be a great opportunity. If you are not really into theater and your dream is to do TV or movies that is ok because acting is acting regardless of the medium. The experience you will get, especially if you don’t have much experience, will be worth it. Just think of all the positives; you get to network with other aspiring actors, you get more acting experience under your belt, and many casting directors to go to theaters to search for new acting talent so you may eve be discovered.
Another place that is always is looking for an actor is every television and movie set. Now I’m not talking about star roles, but I’m taking about being an extra. You may not have many lines and you may even just be in the background, but the experience is great. To find these roles as extras you can look at in your local classifieds or craigslist.
You may hear a lot of people saying that being an extra is not real acting, and they maybe right in a sense but you get invaluable experience and you will to see first hand how a movie or TV set works. If you are in that entertainment environment, you will get to see the producers, the actors, and even the camera crew and from that you can get some great firsthand experience.
Schools are also a great place to find people who are looking for actors. Why schools you might be asking. The reason is school have many student films. These films are low budget and you might not get any compensation except maybe a dinner, experience is key here again. I know I been stressing it, but I can’t stress it enough that when your starting off as an actor experience can be worth more than money. You can take this experience and also add it to your resume which you should be growing and adding too constantly.
Another point I want to stress out that if you are serious about being an actor, treat it as a career. Acting is a craft that you have to develop your skill. Talent will only take you so far in the entertainment industry. It is very cut throat and there are so many talented people that you have to also put in the hard work to get the success you desire. You will also have to develop and indifference to criticism and not allow stressful times to get you unfocused. Remember to always stay focused on your goal and you will eventually find those people who are looking for actors.
